Mission Update

There are two events coming in September that we would like your participation in.

Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA) Ceremony Saturday September 21st.

This ceremony honors all service members that have been Prisoners of War and those that are still Missing in Action. For the ceremony we are looking for five veterans to serve as an Honor Guard, one person that served in the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, and the Coast Guard; and for a service cap (saucer) for each of these five services to use during the ceremony. If anyone in the congregation, or a family member, has been a POW, or has a family member that is listed as MIA, please let us know. Please contact Wayde Sumerix at waydesumerix@gmail.com to help with the ceremony.

Mission Trip Planning Meeting Sunday September 22nd.

Mission will host a meeting for anyone interested in participating or learning

more about our 2025 mission trip opportunities. We will discuss selected mission trips, locations and desired dates for the June/July 2025 trips. Bring a friend. We will partner with Next Step Ministries for the mission trip. Visit their Website at nextstepministries.com to learn of the locations and type of

mission work available.

We have several more events lined up for September through mid-November, more details on these in the future Beacons.

Looking for an opportunity to get involved? The Mission Team is looking for folks to work with our mission partners, help with local service projects, and help plan the 2025 summer mission trip, and your ideas how Lighthouse can better serve our community. There is a specific need for someone to assist with supporting Holly Hill K8 school.

SCUBA! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2024

We had a GREAT week of Scuba! VBS the last week in June. We had 46 kids registered, along with 11 youth volunteers and 30+ adult volunteers. Everyone had fun diving into a deeper friendship with God! We shared Bible stories, made fun crafts, played some fun games, ate yummy snacks and learned some new songs. Friday was water Day during recreation, and boy did we get wet! Pastor Jason was in the dunk tank and it didn’t take long for him to get dunked!! But it was for a great cause, funds raised will go to future youth programs

We couldn’t have done it without YOU! The support from the congregation was phenomenal! Your support through funds, gifts, items and prayers made VBS a success. Thank You to everyone for your support, time, effort and prayers for SCUBA! Vacation Bible School 2024!

Flag Retirement Box at LCPC

We now have a Flag Retirement Box. When a flag wears out and is not fit for display, it can be placed in the retirement box. Flag Box is located on the parking lot side of our building, as you are leaving.

Thank you Troop 403 and Boy Scout, Graham Johnston. This gift was part of Graham Johnston's project to earn his Eagle Scout award.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT NEEDED AT LIGHTHOUSE

In this modern time of technical/digital equipment, computers, and other gadgetry, there is always a need for people to operate this gear.

At Lighthouse CPC, where technology is used for many purposes, i.e. worship services, weddings, funerals, memorial services, and many other types of gatherings which take place on the Lighthouse campus, we are looking for folks who are willing to step in and help fill this need.

We are in hopes of finding people in the midst of our congregation who are willing to answer this call.

What you do not know can be taught and we are willing to do just that.
